Pyxis Partners was tapped by the All of Us Research Program to develop, design, and implement a national strategy to engage diverse communities in this program to help meet the All of Us Research Program goals. Our unique expertise and ability to build networks of key influencers that represent ethnic and demographic diversity, enable us to sustain impactful engagement.
We apply our expertise in elevating the voices of those underrepresented in health research through building long-lasting relationships with community-based and non-profit organizations, based on trust, transparency, and bi-directional communication. Our deep ties to communities and community leaders across the country enable us to combine those relationships with our collective years of experience influencing health policy and working in the healthcare field. We leverage those elements to effectively partner with the NIH to help reach their goal of enrolling 1 million or more diverse people living in the United States to accelerate research that may improve health.
As a result of our foundational efforts with the program since inception in 2016, we built the Community and Provider Gateway Initiative (CPGI) – a national network of more than 100 community-based organizations that represent different races, ethnicities, age groups, and regions of the country. These communities reflect diversity in gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, disability, and health status that better reflect the needs of individuals in this country.
CPGI Partners represent national, regional, and local organizations throughout the country - that help build trust, raise awareness and provide resources to local community leaders as they work to inform more people about the opportunity that exists through All of Us.
In the spring of 2023, Pyxis Partners hosted 13 NIH representatives and 113 partners traveling from 19 states and representing 16 regions from throughout the country. Presenters discussed their collaborative approaches to promoting All of Us in their respective communities, taught researchers about community responses to the program (positive reactions, as well as concerns), discussed the importance of understanding how to use the most diverse dataset for biomedical research, shared how information in the dataset is being applied to increase understanding and promote action regarding the social determinants of health, and heard from program leadership about the future of the program and ways in which this national network will continue to impact advancing personalized health.
